Supernatural Work Life

Rich in Every Way

One day I was thinking of all the bad news on TV.

“It’s just one view they’re presenting” I told myself.

And I ached for God’s perspective on events, asking Him to “grow my sense of being seated in heavenly places.” (Ephesians 2:6)

Then I realised that He’s already doing that and thanked Him for it. And I told myself, “don’t ask for something when He’s already at work doing it.”

You see, thanking Him from a place of ‘knowing’ is superior to asking from a place of ‘need’. For if we keep asking for what we already have, we are choosing poverty.

It’s like asking for food when the table in front of us is laden with every morsel we could ever wish for.

Thanking God for being rich is the road to receiving the ‘abundant life’ that Christ has won for us all. Asking in poverty merely gives our enemy a foothold to ‘kill, steal and destroy’. (John 10:10, Ephesians 4:27)

Let’s not do that!

Instead, join me today in thanking God that we are rich in every way in Christ. (Philippians 4:19)

And let’s keep thanking Him everyday!

Enduring All Things

Cherry blossom – summer’s on the way!

“When it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties see it as an opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can!

For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up power within you to endure all things.

And then as your endurance grows even stronger it will release perfection into every part of your being until there is nothing missing and nothing lacking.”

James 1:2-4 TPT

Who are you listening to?

A  person goes to Jesus and asks, ‘how am I doing today?

Jesus replies, ‘you are the apple of my eye. I love you, good and faithful friend.’

The person then goes to the devil and asks the same question.

The devil replies, ‘you’re nothing. Everything you’re doing is useless. You may as well give up now!’

Who are you listening to today?

Agreeing with God

Our beliefs and actions need to be in agreement with what God says.

So, if I believe I can fly like a bird, this not being in agreement with what God believes about me, then I am deluded, listening to a lie, and if I do it I will probably die!

Believing a lie suffers a curse!

Believing what God says, like Abraham, births a blessing such as fatherhood of a nation. So, even if we say it’s impossible, if God says it is possible and we then believe (agree with) Him it certainly becomes possible because He believed it first. We have aligned spiritually and enter into the blessings of being in that Place.

Believing a truth brings a blessing!

Jesus defined, aligns
When Jesus defined His ‘I am’ identities, such as ‘Light of the World’ and ‘Bread of Life’ a spiritual door opened that let heaven out amongst His audience. This surge of holiness divided those present. They either agreed or disagreed.

Those who agreed with the Light would never walk in darkness again. The many people who deserted Jesus because they thought He was just a miracle man did not get eternally fed. Possessing the same spirit as Esau, they sold their birthright for a single meal or miracle, choosing short-term gain over eternal inheritance.

Agreeing is freeing
I am not who I am by comparison with others, but whom God says I am.
Knowing this and living by it unravels a lot of unhealthy living. It releases me into a big, beautiful Place where I’m free to be whoever I am in an atmosphere of unconditional love.

The sweetest thing

Living on the edge,
On the road less travelled,
God’s Presence is the sweetest thing.
He upholds me,
Gives me strength,
And keeps me from falling.

I find rock beneath my feet,
Where none is usually found.
Supplies along the way,
And gifts wrapped just for me.
It’s a personal thing.
Treasures without end….

The invitation

From the known to the unknown,
We stand at the Frontier.
Pioneers on the threshold of a new landscape,
Invited in by God’s Holy Presence.

‘Leave behind the old and come into the new.
Fear not the unknown for I am with you,
To lead and guide you into what I already know,
And have indeed prepared for you.’

For the best is yet to come!
The battles are already won.
Everything’s possible to the Highest Level,
Where Victory sits enthroned.

And His name is Jesus.

Businesses that change the world

A Christian’s business tends to be little different from any other in the world around it. Yet it is meant to reflect heaven to earth, not be a reproduction of it!

We act as if we are apart of the earth, when in fact we’ve been saved from it in order to impact it from our new home – heaven.

We are actually just temporary residents; as such we hover over it rather than be enslaved by it. We are to be significant in it whilst not being consumed by it. We are change-agents on earth, not agents-changed-by-earth!

Supernatural Work Life

Where is Jesus when you’re at work?

We are born into a world already made, its’ boundaries already in place. Some rare individuals bring freshness, but for most it’s walk the walk and talk the talk; success measured against the system.

People tend to rise and fall by these earthly systems that, by and large, govern our lives, including formal education and work.

I was having a conversation with a teacher, longing but failing to impact his work environment with the presence of God. Suddenly he stopped me in mid-sentence and elatedly declared, ‘I left Jesus at the school gate!’ It was a eureka moment.

If we are passionate about bringing God’s kingdom into our everyday working lives it is our spiritual ID in-Christ that provides our start point, not our system’s ID.
